The husband is in Arkansas visiting his father because he's been sick for a while and won't go to a doctor and now they all think he may have lung cancer. Husband went to try and talk dad-in-law to go to the doctor. He's been gone 4 days now. This has been my biggest fear. That his dad would get ill and he might decide to move back home. I know he loves me and the life we've built together, but it's been tough on him living 800+ miles away from them all. I've been a tad stressed today, teetering on panic attacks or wanting to cry.
This has been a very tiring week for me. Monday thru Wednesday my daughter had ice show rehearsal until 7:30ish so I went from work to where she skates and waited to bring her home. Thursday night was the first show, so we went to see it the first night because it's normally less crowded. Someone must have let out that secret because it was packed! Friday, the hubby and I just met for dinner when I got off work and watched a movie.
Saturday. Well, Saturday started off bad. We finally had our taxes done. And we owe uncle sam & the state a combined $7,400.00!!!!!! Oh me oh my!! Not sure where I'll pull that kind of cash from!!
So what does every hard working American do when they owe big time cash?? They go buy a new CAR!!! We traded in our gas guzzling SUV for a more fuel efficient model...so don't think I'm too irresponsible please. And boy did I stress buying it!! LOL...I turn red from my chest to the top of my head when I'm mad or nervous!! I was GLOWING like ET!!! But, I'm happy we did it, and happy they took that piece of poo we bought three years ago.
Well my little skater just got home from her busy weekend so she's wanting to go for a spin in our new wheels!
I had a very interesting day today. In order to save $60.00 - $80.00 on vet costs we took one of our two dogs to Petsmart today for her yearly shots. Our intentions were to get up early and be first in line!! HA HA HA! Didn't happen. What can I say...I love to sleep.
So we get there an hour and a half after they open and the line for the health clinic is almost to the back of the store. My sister did warn me about the lines.
Luckily we had "the good dog" Dixie our 4 year old black lab and not the rebel Rufus. We probably would have turned and run.
Besides standing for about an hour and a half and my poor husbands allergies flaring and making him sneeze a hundred times, it was quite amusing.
People and their animals are pretty funny. We heard all kinds of stories....rescue stories, mutt stories, puppy stories. The puppy in front of us "Matrix" was a nine week old miniature pincher mix that was so so cute. The owner lady was lucky her 12 year old was very mature because he was taking care of the pup and her 20 month old son at the same time while she complained about everything in the world. The woman behind us was sweet and rescued her border collie right before it was to be put down at the pound. He was a very well behaved dog named Chance...since he got a second one..get it? It also seemed to be get your dachshund vaccinated day, there were dozens of the little hot-dogs there...they are so cute too. And the best one was a english mastiff "pup" that had to weigh close to 200 lbs. The owner said it was a lap dog... safe to say she doesn't get up much if that lays on her.
My Dixie was one of the best behaved dogs there, she never barked, whined, or growled at any of the other dogs...even when she got nipped by a dachshund...and the vet techs even said to her to go out and tell all the other dogs how to behave .
I'll have to take the camera with me when we take Rufus...that'll be quite an adventure!!
I've been visiting posts here on the Stream for the past hour. And it made me realize something. I'M SO BORING! Not that boring is bad. I've lived in situations of fear, discontent, and sadness.
I suppose it's just the time of the year. It's spring..but it's snowing lightly on and off .
I'm sitting here thinking if I could do anything I wanted right now what would I do??? And....I can't think of one good thing. Pretty sorry isn't it? I've just got the blah's I guess...right? I'm not depressed. I'm not sad. I'm not even bored with my boring life!!
Ok...any suggestions to kick-start my normally crazy-happy-silly personality???
Well...I've survived one month back in the work force. Well, after tomorrow I will have. It went by pretty quickly and painlessly actually. In another way it seems like forever that I was living that leisure life I enjoyed so dearly. Ok..it wasn't all leisure but much easier than being gone for 9 1/2 hours and coming home and trying to squeeze in all the other stuff. Wah poor me!
This weekend was nice. The weather was nice and sunny and not too too frigid. AND husband got two days off so I got to see him fully awake for a change .
My two youngest finished up their volleyball and wrestling seasons last week so I don't have to worry about getting them home after practice anymore. Of course, my son is now talking about joining the track team . When he got home from his father's tonight he was asking for this and that and to go different places this week and I told him I was going to have to start charging him for gas money ....to which he replied hey your my parent it's your job. ALRIGHTY! I told him I didn't do a 1/4 of the things he does when I was his age...and he said...well mom what you did in the 60's you can't really compare to now. LOL... what a kid. I said darling, it was the 70's ok, let's not make mommy feel older than she already does. Gotta love them!
Well, it's now past my new early bed-time so I must end this intriguing post. Have a great week blog friends!
